'Your Friends Dream of Publishing Novels, But You Became a Real Writer.'

Discover the secrets of published writers by working with a caring professional and learning to write powerful nonfiction prose. Gain the literary confidence to create unforgettable essays, articles, memoirs and speeches that boost your career, touch people's hearts or simply leave a legacy of eloquence. Study techniques of masters such as George Orwell, E.B. White, David McCullough, Anne Lamott and Frank McCourt

You know the feeling when good words pop into your mind, full of potential, but you fail to write them down and polish them and they slip away. Maybe they end up in the drawer—and so does a little bit of your creative soul.

Unlike so many people you know who talk wistfully about doing some writing, you've got too much potential to leave it unnourished. Great thinkers and writers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson warned us not to make the mistake of underestimating ourselves. He wrote, "In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty." You'll be satisfied to see your own writing rise majestically from proficient to provocative. What's the point of languishing at the low or middle level? Shouldn't you, as one of Mark Twain's characters would say, "throw some style into it?"

I'm Richard Korman, and I've been publishing articles and essays for more than 25 years as a writer and editor. Each step I took forced me to master a new form, each more satisfying than the last. Seeing my features in the New York Times was good. So was the day the Library Journal picked my biography of Charles Goodyear as one of the top business-related books of 2002. To keep growing as a writer, I take inspiration from masters such as George Orwell, E.B. White, David McCullough, Anne Lamott and Frank McCourt.

What I'm offering isn't for everybody and it takes hard work. But with my help you can:

Here's what I'm offering to get you started and to see if you should become a part of my program. Send me up to 3,000 words of your writing and an introductory paragraph about what the writing sample is, whether it is a complete work or part of a larger one, why you chose the subject and form and what your aspirations are as a writer (and if the text is a speech I'd like to know for what occasion). I'll conduct a six-point evaluation that I'll present to you during an hour-long phone discussion to see if you should become part of my workshop training program. And I'll do this for $95. Call me at 845-613-7144 or email me your work at richard@confidentwriter.com

A Woman Hears From God And Learns She Has Cancer

Left Turns, Cars, and God: Sixteen-odd years ago, as I'm driving to a grocery store, I make a left turn out of my driveway, and just as I am about to accelerate out of the turn, I hear a voice from the back seat of my car -- a voice unequivocally not mine -- say something so clear and startling that I have to turn over my shoulder to see who is talking. The voice says, "Prayer works." No one is in the car except me. And, apparently, God. It seems that God does not mind being chauffeured around by a woman who has a history of getting into car accidents. The voice of God changes my life. More...
